Obama: Get a clue.

UNDISCLOSED -- I would like people to know the type of impact this election could have. I agree that on domestic policies "how much damage could be done in 4 years"? People would see how bad Obama is and oust him. HOWEVER, it is much harder to re-invent the wheel and correct mistakes abroad. "Mistakes abroad" is esentially Obama's only chance at winning. That is why you hear the "Bush 3rd term" garbage so much.

More is to come later on this topic, with details (listen I sound like a politician mom!). lol

My question is why would Israel be allowing FBX-T radar along with 100-120 US personnel on their soil... if they did not believe that missile defense CAN, DOES, and may HAVE to work against Iran. Right now the US is lucky, we are fairly safe with the exception of being hit by the USSR... Israel is the one looking down the barrel on a daily basis. They think it can work and have faith in the THAAD system. Why doesn't Obama and the left?

European Missile Defense Funding

NOTE: We will see where things end up but as of now it looks like the sites will get enough funding to begin construction. But this is what I love. The radar looks like it is a done deal, but there is no money for the actual interceptor missiles.

How cool, we can see Iran launching nukes, just cannot do anything about it. (This is not useless!)

Will have more details when I have time.

POW/MIA Recognition

HIRES_POW-MIA_2008

A Pentagon ceremony for National POW/MIA Recognition Day will be held on Friday, Sept.19, 2008. This ceremony will feature troops from each of the military services. The president will issue a proclamation commemorating the observances and reminding the nation of those Americans who have sacrificed so much for their country.

Observances of National POW/MIA Recognition Day are held across the country on military installations, ships at sea, state capitols, schools and veterans' facilities. This observance is one of six days throughout the year that Congress has mandated the flying of the National League of Families' POW/MIA flag. The others are Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day and Veterans Day. The flag is to be flown at major military installations, national cemeteries, all post offices, VA medical facilities, the World War II Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the official offices of the secretaries of state, defense and veterans affairs, the director of the selective service system and the White House.

UNDISCLOSED – I urge everyone to caution the points we go after. This is in no way a lecture but constructive criticism, in order to not get ourselves trapped. Many on the right went a little nuts when Obama stated he would go in to Pakistan. Now, while stating in such an open manner that you may attack a nuclear power was not wise. However, for all of us who have a strong belief in the GWOT we know we have to go after the terrorists. I think his wording made it sound like he would attack the Govt of Pakistan, which was his failure.

Now we do know they are hiding in those mountain areas. The more recent claims of attacks within Pakistan has made waves and been confirmed by “unnamed Government officials.” I don’t trust those as far as I can spit…but you can make up your own mind. But the terrorists use our media against us. They were making their recruitment videos and using the net before 527s were. And when attacks include “women and children” one must question the validity of the reports, I happen to believe elite units of our armed forces would not line up people in the street and execute 10 of them by close proximity headshots. (Although many on the left, including high office officials like Senator Kerry and Rep Murtha seem to have a desire to lead the American public to believe that.)

The most recent claimed attacks are taking out their HVTs. I have faith in the US military, not in the middle East Press corps. All I suggest to those trying to defeat Obama due to what would be a failure of policy, be cautious about attacking what he says too quickly. He is in the Senate, he can get briefed by the DoD. He has information like McCain, and if he goes out front with something we must all be careful to pile on. For it may have been information he put out that went from DoD through his advisors and he is trying to read the tea-leaves.

The worst thing we can allow to happen is give Obama the chance to make it look as though it is HIS policy that we are all now following so he is right. We must attack Obama, he would not be good for the country. However, let's not just attack for the sake of attacking. Let's have precision attacks that go for the throat. Not ones thast require long scuffles.

That morning was an emotional morning for so many and on so many levels. For it was not just one family or town impacted, it was our Nation. The United States of America was under attack.

Patriotism Galore!

I know I have only been showing articles of interest with no real posts, sorry but I have been busy. But this is very interesting to me... Where do the Democrats believe the flag of the United States of America Belongs? The sad truth is...

Flags

Republican Recycling
by David Harsanyi on September 6, 2008

This morning, Republicans tell me that a worker at Invesco Field in Denver saved thousands of unused flags from the Democratic National Convention that were headed for the garbage.

Guerrilla campaigning. They will use these flags at their own event today in Colorado Springs with John McCain and Sarah Palin.

Before McCain speaks today, veterans will haul these garbage bags filled with flags out onto the stage — with dramatic effect, no doubt — and tell the story.

“What you see in the picture I sent you is less than half of total flags,” a Republican official emailed. “We estimate the total number to be around 12,000 small flags and one full size 3×5 flag.”

I’m not sure what the DNC was supposed to do with unused hand-flags, frankly. But the Republicans are obviously questioning someone’s patriotism here.

I love the line "I’m not sure what the DNC was supposed to do with unused hand-flags." I have an idea for them...it didn't take me much time to think of as I am a patriot unlike these assholes that threw the flag away.

That from a post I did a while back... What could you POSSIBLY do with hand flags right?

Coast Guard identifies three killed in helicopter crash
Advertiser Staff

The U.S. Coast Guard has identified three air crew members who were killed last night during a training flight five miles south of Honolulu International Airport.

The Coast Guard is continuing a search for the fourth crewmember. The crew members were identified as: Co-pilot Lt. Cmdr. Andrew Wischmeier; Rescue swimmer Petty Officer 1st Class David Skimin; and flight mechanic Petty Officer 2nd Class Joshua Nichols. They were pronounced dead last night at Queen's Medical Center. The three had been recovered by HFD small boats and transferred to another Coast Guard HH-65 Dolphin helicopter for transport to the hospital.

"Our hearts go out to their loved ones during this difficult time," said Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Thad Allen from Washington, D.C., in an e-mail message to all service members. "The entire Coast Guard will provide whatever support services are necessary for the families and crew of Air Station Barbers Point."

DISGRACEFUL.

Please read the CIR "manifesto" at the top. And this is an example of why I felt a need to start my blog. The military does not receive the respect it deserves in so many places. This story disgusts me. Look for the Disney line...that is how it is done. We cannot allow this to become the norm. I recall the Hilton shutting down a longtime restaurant that gave free steak meals to wounded from Walter Reed because they didn't like all the "wounded people" around.

I suggest you double check vacation plans and make sure you are not giving this company ANY of your hard earned dollars: The Big Apple and owned by a company called American Amusements.

Soldier forced to sleep in car after hotel refuses him a room

A wounded soldier home from Afghanistan on sick leave was forced to spend the night in his car after a hotel refused him a room.

Corporal Tomos Stringer was told by staff at Metro Hotel, in Woking, that it was company policy not to accept members of the armed forces as guests. The 24-year-old had travelled to the Surrey town to help with funeral preparations for a friend killed in action.

It was so late that Cpl Stringer, who had broken his wrist jumping off an Army truck as it was attacked, had no choice but to bed down in his tiny, two-door car, arm covered in plaster.
Cpl Stringer, of 13 Air Assault Support Regiment, The Royal Logistic Corps, has now returned to Afghanistan, but his mother, Gaynor Stringer, from Criccieth, north Wales, told The Times that she is still furious about the incident.

“I’m very, very angry. It’s discrimination. They would never get away with it if it was against someone of ethnic origin,” she said.

She said they had received neither an apology nor an explanation from the hotel, which is part of a family entertainment centre called The Big Apple and owned by a company called American Amusements.

"In America, they treat soldiers as heroes,” said Mrs Stringer, whose son joined the Army when he was 16 and has done multiple tours of duty in Iraq, Northern Ireland and Afghanistan.

“We went to Disney World with Tomos and the whole family was moved to the front of the lines. Everybody was standing up and clapping and cheering.

“Here, soldiers can’t even get a bed for the night.”

The incident has prompted widespread condemnation from senior members of the Government, MPs, servicemen and their supporters.

Hywel Williams, the MP for Caernarfon, Derek Twigg, the Defence Minister, and Bob Ainsworth, the Armed Forces Minister, have written to the hotel.

Mr Twigg wrote: “Although I do not know the precise circumstances, I think it is deplorable for the management of a hotel to have a policy not to accept military personnel and that this case is especially egregious given that the individual concerned was on injury leave from Afghanistan.”
Mr Williams said: “It is unacceptable and outrageous that anyone is discriminated against in this way."

But perhaps even more worrying for Metro Hotel are the legions of army men and enthusiasts rising up in the forums of the unofficial
British Army website to call for a boycott of the hotel.
Some have suggested booking the hotel in huge numbers only to cancel it at last minute. Others are encouraging their colleagues to post negative comments on websites offering customer reviews of the hotel.

One review site has already received half a dozen such comments.

“As a serving member of the British armed forces, I’m disgusted to see that one of my colleagues was refused a room in Metro Hotel in Surrey...because their policy is to refuse all army personnel,” wrote one. “Anyone considering using any services of this company should definitely not bother. I'm sure a more patriotic company can be found with far superior services.”

Another wrote of the hotel: “Cons - No beds for our country's heroes.”

US says troops could quit Baghdad soon
By Demetri Sevastopulo in Washington
Published: September 3 2008 09:43 Last updated: September 3 2008 18:21

General David Petraeus, the top US commander in Iraq, said declining violence in Baghdad raised the possibility that American combat troops could leave the capital by next summer.

Asked in an interview with the Financial Times whether it was feasible that US combat forces could leave Baghdad by July, he said: “Conditions permitting, yeah.”

Brace yourselves, it will not be long before the left is accusing this of being a purely "political stunt." Should we start a betting pool?
