Missile Defense Progress...

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Missile defense is again making progress. As noted over at Mike’s America a new article came out with Brigadier General O’Oreilly saying he is confident that the homeland should be defended within a year. This has come on the heels of a successful test at the Pacific Missile Range Facility. As the continual testing goes on of our systems White Sands Missile Range has become unacceptable as a testing ground. The defense missiles now testing cover too much ground and would go out of the range. (This is where “Trinity” the first nuclear bomb was detonated, to give you perspective on the amount of ground these systems cover.)


Complimenting the Patriot (PAC-3) the THAAD can reach out further but is still mobile. People do not realize that much of the missile defense systems focus not only on protecting the homeland but also our interests (military and non-military) abroad.

“The Ballistic Missile Defense System now in development and testing will be capable of providing a layered defense for the U.S. homeland, its deployed forces, friends and allies against ballistic missiles of all ranges in all phases of flight. The higher-altitude and theater-wide protection offered by THAAD provides more protection of larger areas than lower-tier systems like Patriot alone. THAAD can be transported by air to wherever it is needed worldwide, and consists of radar, fire control unit, missile launchers, and interceptor missiles.” (MDA News Release Jan 27)


As the flight testing for the airframe continues, the ABL (Airborne Laser) will now fire its weapon in flight. This modified 747 tracks missiles in theater and destroys them after launch (phase 1 of flight).

To show you how the entire system is designed to work, I stumbled across this animation which I am sure many will call science-fiction. It is a pretty good demonstration of the possible results if the MDA is supported. This is in no way an official Government video. However, the components used do exist.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- First off it is not “Mister.” It is either “Mr. President” or “President George Bush.”

I love these hyphenated titles. “Iraqi-American.” He was born in America, don’t mistake this as some poor guy that was stuck in the battle in downtown Fallujah and has since moved here and is only NOW living the American Dream. His family is in Southern California and owns a liquor store. He graduated from the University of San Diego.

So where does he get off singing at one moment from the American perspective and the very next moment he is an Iraqi mad at the USA Governement? What? As an “Irish-American” I don’t BS that I am from the “hood” in Ireland. I wasn’t complaining about the harsh treatment of the IRA. Good grief. This whole “we don’t need you spilling our blood in Iraq” and right next to it “what has happened we were proud for 200 years”, which is it? Fun to play both sides isn’t it? Must be a Kerry fan.

“[He] gets right up in our faces, mixing explosive, Middle Eastern tinged beats with incendiary rhymes in an effort to shatter those ugly stereotypes that have plagued people who look like him since 9/11 and the start of the Iraq war.”

That is a good way to get rid of bad stereotypes, act all pissed off at those you claim acted irrationally towards you. Good logic.

I am not calling you a terrorist, I do question your logic. And I find it funny that you sing about “there is a war outside.” Well in SOCal the only war outside is a gang war. On Hannity and Colmes you said “I’ve come to this country…” don’t try to trick people into thinking you are from Iraq and suffered the pains of being in the middle of the war when:
- You live, HERE.
- You graduated from college, HERE.
- You recorded a CD, HERE.
- You hang out around stadiums, HERE.
- You spent 3 months of your 20+ year life in Iraq, PRIOR TO THE WAR. (So you say.)

You might say “God bless the troops” and insist you are on our side. But when you serve in uniform you represent and defend this country. When you, TIMZ, insult the country you are insulting us. You pretend you’re in Iraq in the middle of the war, say your family is there… On H&C you say you had a cousin (I believe) living in Iraq but has now left. What family are you rapping about? Your song, while it has a nice beat to it, is a lie.

SOTU Summary

“It would not be like us to leave our promises un-kept, our friends abandoned, and our own security at risk.”

[The right applauded and the left sat down, and kept to themselves.]

“On this day, at this hour, it is still within our power to shape the outcome of this battle. So let us find our resolve, and turn events toward victory.”

[Again, many on the left did not even applaud. So spare us, we now have added proof that the left is NOT interested in “victory” and obtaining it. Then of course comes the question do they care about OUR security?]

“And ladies and gentlemen, nothing is more important at this moment in our history than for America to succeed in the Middle East ... to succeed in Iraq ... and to spare the American people from this danger.”

[Again, NO. Many failed to acknowledge this need and even the wonderful new Madam Speaker did not even stand up. Now there are many politicians that it doesn’t matter you cannot see them or people are not even paying attention to the crowd. But you had the new Democratic Speaker of the House sitting on her hands when the President had the gall to include “America” and “succeed” in the same sentence. It must make all you lefties proud.]

Those are 3 key points that demonstrate the failure on the side of the left and my issue with them.

You mean there is truth to what we on the right have been saying for so long and the left has been mocking? If we don’t fight them there we will have to fight them here. Yet by maintaining the fight in Iraq we were able to hit the safe houses and potentially prevent further attacks within the US. If we had retreated months/years ago as the left wanted this raid would have never taken place! Good plan lefties!

24 bigots! (Sad but TRUE.)

Failure to take a stand.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – I am glad the dems carry around their own descriptions on signs. This morning on Fox News Sunday Senator Levin literally made my point for me, that the left is more than willing to criticize but unwilling to stick their necks out for what they feel is right. Senator Levin (D) in response to a question about whether Sen. Clinton (D) could win the general election made the following comment:

“I think there is a democratic tide that is running in this country for good reasons. I think 6 years of the Bush administration have given people a lot of reasons to look for democratic alternatives and it’s now up to us to show what those alternatives are…”

While I do not agree with his choice, I must say at least Sen. Dodd (D) is being honest and willing to actually take the action Levin calls for, and says the country wants, but is unwilling to take for fear of making such a vote and when Iraq is a success we would all be able to look back and ask him what he was thinking.

“This is not a time for Senators, in my view, to simply declare our individual opposition to this plan. It is time we accept our obligations and offer meaningful action to stop this proposal.” (Dodd)

No, I do not agree with the substance of such “actions” but I must say Dodd gets a CIR gold star for coming forward and admitting that for those that blame the right for playing politics with Iraq to turn around and just talk is pathetic. Get a spine. You see some people leaving the Administration’s side, but not all. Many of us like the fact that the President backs up his words by actions not these pathetic meaningless resolutions. Lefties, you are in power of Congress. I thought you were going to “fix” the Iraq problem. I didn’t know that talking was the way to do that, I thought you had promised to force the Presidents hand? Back to Levin:

“It will be a very powerful message if a bi-partisan majority of the Congress say they disagree with the increased military involvement in Iraq…”

What was I mentioning earlier about the left playing politics with Iraq? Couldn’t be you say! Let’s finish Levin’s remark:

“… the worst thing we can do is vote on something, which is critical of the current policy, and lose it. Because if we lose that vote the President will use the defeat of a resolution as support for his policy. The public doesn’t support his policy; a majority of Congress doesn’t support his policy.”

I will be honest you democrats sure do confuse me. He starts by saying there is this “democratic tide” sweeping the nation, they don’t like the policy. The congress is in the democrats hands, and that majority doesn’t like the policy. YET THEY DO NOTHING! They are going to continue to do what they have been doing for years, saying they don’t like it!!! Press statements, on the talk shows, on the floor. Well now is your chance, stop talking and put your foot down… try to make a change.

I will tell you I am sick of the “he lied, they died” crowd. Well now anyone on the left that wants to place blood on the Presidents hands better be willing to put it on the Democrats hands. They have the choice to cut funding and force the President to withdraw from Iraq but as Levin FLAT OUT SAID it is too politically risky for them to try and save the lives of soldiers they claim are dying in a civil war. Lefties, that says a lot about your leaders doesn’t it? You can say the President is wrong, but at least he sticks to his convictions and is willing to take all the political heat in the world (literally) for his choices. The same cannot be said for the newly elected Congress. The left loves to talk but fails to take action. You will say I would attack them for issuing a resolution that would cut funding. Yes I would, but I could at least have some respect that they took a real stance. Not this lame legislative version of an op-ed.

Speaks for itself...

A first.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This will be the first time I have publicly criticized President Bush. I have not in the past mostly do to the fact that I believe in his policies and decisions. Other times the problem has been small and I felt that there is no way for one person to please everyone, therefore I looked at the big picture and was able to continue to fully support and stand behind my leader. One of the biggest reasons for supporting President Bush was for his hard-line, no BS approach on terrorism.

Well now it would seem he has indeed decided to stop the TSP. I am deeply troubled by this action and it frustrates me deeply. Remember, this programs purpose was in no way to gather evidence to prosecute the individual. So the idea that any information gathered could not be used in a court of law is a pointless argument, the program was to listen for a possible attack and stop people from being killed.

I don’t know the reasoning behind it, possibly not wanting to deal with hearings in to the program by the new (in my eyes) weaker Congress, but if that is the case then I am even more troubled. I still contend it was legal, as my resident opposition will surely say it was not. You will not change my mind on that. I am saddened that it would appear the President of the United States of America has bowed down to pressure that could ultimately cost American lives.

“Gonzales said a judge on the secret FISA court recently approved a government proposal allowing it to target communications into and out of the United States when probable cause exists that one person is a member of al Qaeda or an associated terrorist organization.”

I am sure the program will remain similar, however it might just be that one time FISA turns down a warrant or those extra hours that make the difference. I am deeply disappointed and just remind the left of what one of your fellow members said:

"We must engage in all surveillance necessary to prevent acts of terrorism, but we can and should do so in ways that protect the basic rights of all Americans including the right to privacy," [Sen. Patrick Leahy] said.

How do you say “we must engage in all surveillance necessary to prevent acts of terrorism” and follow it up in the next sentence say you need to limit the surveillance? If you are going to limit something then you are not doing “all” you could to prevent terrorism.

Does Dennis Miller read CIR?

But, the very day after my last post talking about the love of the left to say they are against the war in Iraq, but are for going after terrorists Dennis Miller had his say and made a point to remind everyone that the WORLD thought Saddam had WMDs (also many of us believe that if we hadn't wasted time at the UN and had gone right in we would have found them). Where they are!

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- I have just returned home after being sent out for 2 weeks of running base to base on the East Coast. I am tired and I apologize for my inability to maintain CIR while I was gone. I am going to bed, I am tired. But I thought I would get a discussion going.

In the past years the big argument or should I say defense from the left is that they aren’t against the “War on Terror” just the war in Iraq because it has nothing to do with the overall war. For the sake of argument we shall pretend that is the case. Confront a liberal on them being weak on terrorist and you get the cookie cutter response:

“We should go after terrorists where they are, they just aren’t in Iraq and Bush screwed up.”

Well here is your chance to stand behind your words. In recent days we have been assaulting Al Qaeda terrorists in Somalia. The President used military force to go after terrorists where they were. Now… the EU and Arab League have come out swinging (of course) at the Pentagon, Washington, and of course the Administration. To the left I ask, do we continue to go after the terrorists “where they are” or do we listen to Europe? Here is a fresh new example completely apart from Iraq, you can’t use the “I was mislead with stories of WMDs” excuse here. There are terrorists in Somalia, do we kill them?

Need time!

Sorry all, I am very tied up currently and just have little to no time to catch up on the blogs. One thing that came infront of me today that has nothing to do with the military but... I just find it a fun read:

Former Democratic Party boss and Clinton friend Terry McAuliffe is lambasting John Kerry’s unsuccessful presidential campaign, calling his effort to unseat President Bush "one of the biggest acts of political malpractice in the history of American politics."
